About the event
Join us for a walk in the woods to get to know your fungal neighbours. We will learn how to identify common mushroom species and explore the role of fungi in the ecosystem, followed by a creative Halloween workshop with Urban Forest to make your own weird and wonderful fungi clay creations.
Take inspiration from fungal finds on the foray, we will be exploring fungi themed clay moulding - a multi sensory, creative activity and allow your imagination to run wild as you reconnect and interact with nature. Will your creation be poisonous, look like witch's butter, or will it end up looking like a future fungus that is yet to be discovered?
- 11am-12.30pm: Guided Fungus Foray
- 12.30pm: Break for refreshments/lunch
- 1-2.30pm: Fungi Halloween Creations
Mushrooms are mysterious. They capture our imagination like no other organisms. Perceived as live-giving, mind-blowing and deadly, they simultaneously inspire fear, wonder and confusion. Against the odds, fungi thrive in big cities like London too.
